Why we built it
Your money questions deserve a straight answer
Most people in Cambodia work out salary tax, NSSF and loan payments by hand, in a spreadsheet, or by trusting a number they can't check. The rules are public, but they're written for accountants, not for the person getting paid.
We built KitMel because we needed it ourselves, then our families and friends did too. We wanted one place that gives the answer, shows how it got there, and speaks Khmer first.
We figured that if we built it well and shared it, it could help other Cambodians who run into the same problems we did.
Who builds it
Developers who build for home
KitMel is made by a volunteer group of senior and lead developers with 10+ years each. We give our own time and money to build useful things for Cambodia, and to show what local developers can make.
Useful first
Useful to us, then our families and friends, then everyone.
Built professionally
Side project, production standards: tested rules, accessible screens.
Paid for by us
Members' donations cover hosting and app store fees. Nothing else.
